Health & Safety

Before travelling, we recommend consulting a Travel Clinic or Tropical Diseases Clinic for advice on health precautions relevant to your safari. Below you’ll find helpful information regarding malaria, vaccinations, safety in the wild, and nearby medical facilities.

  • Malaria

Garonga is located in a low-risk malaria area. Mosquito nets and repellent are provided in all tents.

  • Vaccinations

No vaccinations are legally required for South Africa unless you're traveling from a yellow fever endemic area. Consult your doctor about recommended vaccinations for international travel.

  • Safety in the Wild

Your safety is our top priority. All activities are led by experienced, qualified guides. Please follow their instructions at all times. Never leave your tent at night without escort, and keep tent zips closed when inside.

  • Medical Facilities

We maintain first aid facilities on site and have emergency evacuation procedures in place. The nearest hospital is in Hoedspruit, approximately 90km away. We strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance including medical evacuation cover.
